Doylestown, Delaware River and Cheesecake

On Monday I took my brother down to Doylestown for lunch.
We ate at a terrible restaurant but the coffee shop where we had dessert was cute.

Tired from our NYC adventure the day before
we decided to just take a ride home up the Delaware River.
I was so thrilled to see the winter flowers had come up!
The world is beginning to wake up again
*smile*

Back home D made me the most amazing raspberry swirl cheesecake!
Not only is he a great brother but a wonderful baker too.

The next day he boarded a plane back to Florida.
The apartment is very quiet...

I've had a bit of a relapse in my health but hope to be feeling
well enough to start making things soon.
For now, back to bed.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I love Valentine's Day!
On my way home from work I stopped by the local park
to scratch a heart in the snow.

While walking by the baseball field I spied the
white tailed deer print that looked so much like a heart.
And then the little melt spot on the road.

Thank you to my dear friends who made or gave me cards today.
I appreciate it more than you know.

Eagles, Acorns and Apple Cider

Osprey
Bald Eagle

An acorn left behind until I can return...

The last of my vacation photos, I promise!

The birds of prey will be migrating through November.
Because of the excellent trout river, those who fish are readily found.
(Sorry about the blurry eagle photo, it was quite far away and
my little camera made a valiant effort to zoom in.)

Hot Apple Cider helped warm me after a rainy hike,
but it seems I've caught a bit of a cold from the adventure.

So it's a cup of tea and off to bed early for me.

New Book

Here is a peek at the book I sweated over this weekend.
(My fan broke and I just couldn't bring myself to turn the air conditioner back on!)

Hidden in the woods are a deer, fox, rabbit and turtle.
Still working out the cover and searching for a title.

Annoying color variations and shadows but you get the general idea.
Forgive my recent absence...sometimes I just need to disappear for a while.
Have a great week.

The Catskills

A lovely if stormy weekend in the Catskills.
There were deer everywhere, an unexpected hillside of
lupines and daisies and a mysterious old home
all along the clearest of trout waters.

I could stay there forever...

Monday

On my way into work this morning I stopped by my local trail head
and snapped some photos of the snow.  It's raining today and the snow
                               is turning to slush.

The cross country skis were left at the beginning of the trail, not sure why.

Deer prints were everywhere and I love the dots made by the rain.
