April is Here

Within weeks the cherry and apple trees will be blooming.
Yesterday was all steady rain and today the sun is bright,
so is the pattern that awakens the trees and flowers.

I've been unwell again.
Last week a small itch on my arm covered my torso and arms
overnight with large red welts and little pustules!
Contact dermatitis.

I went to the doctor twice and am now on steroids to stop the progression.
I don't like taking medications and this one makes me a bit restless.
So yesterday I stitched together the hankie window shade, painted the rabbit
and the polar bear and frantically knitted away on my grey sweater.
Oh, and the apartment has been thoroughly straightened!
Needless to say, sleep has been difficult.

I also just bought a new camera.
These are my first photos taken with it.
All the settings are right out of the box as I haven't taken
the time to read through my manual yet.
It's a bit intimidating...baby steps.

A Foggy Walk

The fog has been thick as felt for three days now.
A fine mist covers everything, accumulating into drops
that roll down my face and clothing.

Saturday I was dutiful and went to the grocery, laundromat, etc
so Sunday I took off to the woods.

A few more little paper clay creatures awaiting sandpaper and paint.
If I could just slow everything down for a few moments
there are so many things I want to make!

Hope all is well.

First Snow

leaning out my window
paper clay beasties
love this cover

I woke this morning to the unmistakable silence of snowfall.
Small flakes falling steadily onto the backs of squirrels.
I wish that I could take off from work on the first snowfall of the year
to tromp through the woods (with a hawk on my arm!)

Sorry I haven't been posting as regularly, life is a whirlwind as of late.
Dutifully knitting away and squeezing bits of paper clay into beasties.
Hope that everyone is happy, safe and well.

Rose Hips, Pomegranates and Paper Clay

A grey day with clouds that look like snow.
I went for a short walk and found these bright red rose hips.
Pomegranates are back in the grocery stores and I couldn't be happier!
I love the delicious little seeds.
Keeping busy with the little paper clay animals.
(They look a little too cute...but I don't care)
Lots of knitting and reading.
Hope your weekend is full of wonderful treats.
