Thanksgiving

Because all my family live far away I spent Thanksgiving Day with Juncos, Nuthatches, a Dragonfly and an ever chattering Red Squirrel.  I took a long walk, built a fire and then reheated a small feast.  The little painting is the first in a series.

Yesterday

Yesterday was so dark, cold and rainy I turned on the colored lights in my window. They reflected in the glass and appeared to be strung through the trees outside.  Empty jars await the herbs drying in my hallway.

Catskills in October

the ground was covered with mushroom stems
deer had feasted on the caps

a favorite place

it rained all day
the trail was like a small stream

wet, cold and incredibly happy

Sophie

Although this photo is a few weeks old, I think it explains why Sophie's head sometimes smells like Oregano!

Starry Night

It's a cold and clear night...wishing I was in my blue tent.
