Tuesday

It was amazingly Spring like today!
The temperature was near 60F with the slightest breeze.

Although I had many chores to catch up on, laundry and
grocery shopping,  I still found time to fling open all my
windows for a much needed "changing of the air."

An Italian friend of mine once said, "When there are
sheep in the sky, it's bound to rain," and so are the predictions
for the rest of the week.

A new knitting book for my birthday and a delicious little tart
                                         just because.
Slowly working my way through My Heart Wanders.

Sunday - Downtown Allentown

Allentown Art Museum

I had to attend an artistic achievement award function for my job today.
The ceremony was held at Allentown Symphony Hall.
Unfortunately I was too busy to get a photo inside the Hall,
but the mural is on the back wall of the building.

Allentown is attempting an urban renewal, I hope they are able to succeed.
All pics are within a block of each other and are sadly devoid of people.

I'm battling second glove syndrome...must finish it this weekend.
My thoughts have drifted to sweaters...........................................

Friday

Another very dark and rainy day.

The pink cat is a birthday gift from a dear friend.
The squirrel nest outside my window, what a view of the stars they must have!
More paperwhite bulbs started and my latest orchid bloom.

                             Now off to work!

Tuesday Blooms

The snow is all but gone after yesterday's steady rain and warm temperature.

One orchid bloomed the other soon to follow.
The yellow one is on a plant that is thirteen years old!
And it always double spikes for me.
(Sorry about the spots on the window!)

Spray roses on the wane, they were buy one get one free at the grocery.

Monday

On my way into work this morning I stopped by my local trail head
and snapped some photos of the snow.  It's raining today and the snow
                               is turning to slush.

The cross country skis were left at the beginning of the trail, not sure why.

Deer prints were everywhere and I love the dots made by the rain.

Saturday

It snowed overnight, only about 4 inches but how lovely!
There were fox tracks in the snow under my window this morning.

Other than a brief run to the grocery, I stayed in and had a bit of a sorting out today.
Flannel shirt, long johns and a cup of tea in hand, I got rid of two bags worth of nonsense.

My little book press now has a new place of prominence.
It's been over a year since I've made a book...that's far too long.

Monday Morning Moon

It was a very cold day, about 17F at sunrise.
The moon rose at 2:00am and was still visible
when I left for work this morning.

The ice pattern through my car's windshield before
                                  I pulled the scraper out!

Someone in the neighborhood had a wood fire burning last night,
the smoke scent lingered in the air.

A good way to start the week.

Sunday

I had grand ambitions for the day but ended up
                                          wandering about, not accomplishing much.

                                         The grandeur of the mundane.

The painting is a gift from a very talented friend.
My photo does not do it justice.

Friday

It snowed this morning and flurried throughout the day.

This is the first snowfall since the freak storm that dropped
                                 a foot in October.

Unfortunately, it was all gone by the end of the day...

Curling up with a cup of tea and my new book tonight.

Wednesday - a special gift

A young man who works for me went to Florida for four months.
He returned this week and to my surprise he gifted me with this small
                                handful of Spanish Moss!

I grew up in North Central Florida; a land of pine, palm and live oak trees.
Spanish Moss and Mistletoe live in the beautiful oaks and remind
                                me of home.

The photos are of a favorite little town I visited last May.
Such a perfect little house...such a perfect little gift...

Sunday

Today I visited a fish hatchery just down the road from my home.

I also stopped by my local antique market and discovered a friend
for a similar wooden bear I found many, many years ago!

The painted wooden mug has a paper stamp marked
                                                            USSR, 1984 on the bottom.
