what i've been doing

Working with oil paint slows me down,

especially important when the rest of my life is so hectic.

The fish wind sock idea just appeared in a sketch one day.

Friday night I attended a local theater production of 'A Christmas Carol.'

It was opening night and my dear A's first performance on a public stage!

He did a great job, so proud of him.

On Sunday I visited an open studio show hosted by a painter friend.

Eight artists had work for sale and I bought a couple of holiday gifts for family.

busy, busy, busy

Friday - Fish and Book Arts

There were a few freight cars sitting on a side track near where I live.
The first time I saw the fish like rust patterns I was smitten.
It reminds me of salmon swimming upstream.
Luckily, I photographed them before the cars moved on.

The tunnel book was one of the last books I made.
The french-like neighborhood piece was for work.
It's not like me to scribble something so quickly...but it was fun!

Sunday - Lehigh Parkway

On my way home from the grocery store I stopped by a local park.

The ubiquitous Pennsylvania Covered Bridge, a quaint springhouse
and one of the many trout living in the little pool.

Mostly cloudy and chilly today.
Spring is so close that I really want to see more birds and flowers!
I will continue to scan the roadsides for Robins and Dandelions.

                                 Today I visited a fish hatchery just down the road from my home.
                 
                                I also stopped by my local antique market and discovered a friend
                                      for a similar wooden bear I found many, many years ago!

                                          The painted wooden mug has a paper stamp marked
                                                            USSR, 1984 on the bottom.
