First Frost

The first frost of the season is predicted tonight.

I plan on snuggling under my sleeping bag,
it still smells faintly of campfire,
with a bowl of soup and some favorite magazines.

A cup of tea before lights out.

Hoping to sleep off the rest of this little cold.

From the Netherlands...

When I came home from work yesterday I found this beautiful
package leaning up against my front door.

It was Patrice's gift from the magazine swap lovely V arranged.

Patrice sent me a magazine full of craft projects, color and wonderful photos!
The botanical illustration was pulled from a book of native flowers
and the yarn a gift from her mother some years ago.
The pigeon sculpture is one of Patrice's own works
with a sweet note written on the back.

Thank you Patrice, you made me feel very special...

Reading in Bed

I stayed up too late last night reading Cheryl Strayed's new book Wild.
It's just one of those books that is difficult to put down.
The first chapter is frank and grounds you with a jolt.
Then the book begins to soar...her style of writing is so easily devoured
if not careful you could read it in one sitting,
but I don't want to hurry through.

So out come the magazines.
Rowan, Selvedge and Kinfolk.
Some visual stimulation before work.

My new hiking boots wait by the door...

Tuesday - Rainy May Day

A steamy shower window and orchids in the kitchen.

Wouldn't it be lovely to have sheep in the doorway.

Happy May Day!

Sunday - Retail Adventure

It was gloomy when I wandered into Ikea...the doorhandles of Anthropologie...
a few downtown views of Wayne, PA...a soft blue sky...the spoils!
