to the mountains

I was able to spend the afternoon by a stream in the mountains today.

The snail was found in the woodpile; snail relocation requires patience!

The muscari that I planted two years ago have gone to seed
with the most exquisite little triangular purses.

The water level was low but positively teaming with trout.

I covered the campfire and drove the long way home.

This week I will be working long hours in Soho, NYC.
Will definitely find time for a 'long lunch' at Purl Soho!

Not sure I can find the cord to connect my camera to my iPad
so I may not be able to post until next weekend.
(I'm sure my brother D has three of these connectors
and knows exactly where they all are!)

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Some Color...

I've been posting so much grey lately I decided it was time to show some color!
The sky has been its usual March self; turbulent one moment and glorious the next.

This past weekend I haunted a couple of the local Antique Centers, searching for
a variety of pretty handkerchiefs.  I plan on sewing them together and then hanging
the shade in my kitchen window, a translucent patchwork of flowers.

The seed packets were purchased as much for their lovely packaging
as the seeds they contain!

Sophie is sleeping on my sunny windowsill and I must get ready for work.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying some bit of Spring like change.
Enjoy tonight's full moon!

Rose Hips, Pomegranates and Paper Clay

A grey day with clouds that look like snow.
I went for a short walk and found these bright red rose hips.
Pomegranates are back in the grocery stores and I couldn't be happier!
I love the delicious little seeds.
Keeping busy with the little paper clay animals.
(They look a little too cute...but I don't care)
Lots of knitting and reading.
Hope your weekend is full of wonderful treats.

Seed Cones

Here are the little seed cones I made up for the tom seeds.
It may seem a ridiculous amount of time to put into something
that will be tucked in a drawer for six months, but I had fun making them.

It's a splendid day!
Clear sky and cool air.

We'll see what mischief I can get into today.

Tuesday - Treasure

Monday night I came home and found the most delicate
and beautiful envelope in my mailbox.

I couldn't open it right away...and carried it with me to work Tuesday,
propping it up on my computer or placing it in the middle of my desk throughout the day.

It wasn't until this evening that I was ready to very carefully cut it open.
The contents left me breathless...

My heart is singing!
Thank you, dearest Coco.
