sunset, sunrise

We arrived in St. Augustine in the afternoon.
After dinner I was back out on the beach in time to
catch the spectacular Florida sunset complete with palm trees.

As is tradition, my brother and I were up early and
on the beach in time to watch the sunrise.

The ocean was quiet with no clouds on the horizon
so the progress of the fiery ball was amazing.
A cheerful dog, barking at the birds in flight, paused to take in the view
and the sand and water were the color of molten bronze.

I took loads of photos, these are just a few!

Snowfall and Sunsets

I wonder if it will snow again
before winter ends

The Drive Home

Barn quilts and sunflowers
a missed turn
home to boiling clouds...

The trip took longer than expected
but that wasn't a bad thing.

North Carolina Sky

Every morning began with thick fog that covered the ground
with dew so heavy you thought it had rained overnight.

By 8:00 am most had burned off to reveal a bright blue sky,
the benefit of being far from a major city.

Come evening the clouds would boil with color before
again settling down over the hills for the night.

Monday

There is a very small airport quite close to my home/workplace.
On my way home I noticed a training flight buzzing the runway
and quickly snapped some photos.
A brief but dramatic sunset...
