sniffles

A lousy summer cold has kept me in bed today.
Outside it was beautiful!  All sun and blue and breezy.
The last full day of Spring.

There were moments of recline, when my mind
started planning the day's adventures...
but when I rose my body thought otherwise.

Instead, a day spent
mindlessly searching through Ravelry,
with tea and plenty of naps.

blustery weekend

Cold, cold cold…the wind pushed at my back as I walked a new trail.
Berries shivered and milkweed flew from my hand, the tip of my nose cold
as I braced myself for the walk back to the trail head.

Saturday night the first snow squall swirled off the rooftops,
melting on my up turned face…and then it was gone.

I knit another glove, painted, blocked a sweater, did my yoga, read the paper,
painted some more then spent the evening watching documentaries and drinking tea.
All that was missing, a campfire and a dog.

Hope your weekend was full of adventures.

back home

I've just returned from a week long trip to visit with family in Florida.
The gator was about 7 feet long and quite close to the shore of Lake Alice.
I always consider it good luck to see a gator while back home,
like my visits to place a coin in the mouth of the Porcellino
at the Loggia del Mercato Nuovo in Florence, it seems to promise my return.

Awaiting my arrival, alongside a very happy cat. were these two treasured correspondences.
With blanket spread on the floor for a morning picnic I opened each  while drinking my coffee.

I couldn't have asked for a warmer home coming!
Thank you V and X, I have so many of both your beautiful blog posts to catch up on!

Be prepared for the upcoming barrage of holiday photos!

From Coco...

I came home for lunch and found a package leaning against my door.
It was an unexpected gift from the dear and very talented Coco!

So many beautiful gifts!
Including the much loved house slippers.
Don't those red toes just make you smile!
And that little bird drawing!

I am so grateful for all the amazing people I've met
and dear friends made through blogging.
Thank you all

And thank you Coco, for warming my heart
(and my toes!)

Sunday Afternoon - Guilty Pleasures

I will admit that I have a weakness for all of the "I've changed my life
and moved to Paris" books.
My French adventures have not extended beyond Provence, which is lovely,
but I dream of the City of Lights.
So this afternoon I made a cuppa, set aside my knitting and curled up with a
new Parisian adventure.
The tea is a delicious blend from a dear friend and the pink bottomed cup is
from Takashimaya in New York.

And the lilacs are blooming...
